Marysville Bowls Club

Marysville crawled over the line to win against Healesville 2 at Healesville last Saturday. In what turned out to be a very tough day with high temperatures and a very difficult green.

Marysville beat Healesville 2 with a brilliant performance by Ben Who?? Ben Simmons of course!!!!! 88 to 83. He was backed up by Dave Stirling’s rink who won by 14 shots and Jenny Tirant’s rink 4 shots up and Mark Simmons rink contained the damage to lose by 13 shots.

What stood out in Ben’s rink was the amount of times he saved his rink with clever and intelligent tactics and great bowling. Unfortunately his team was having a tough day and Ben just kept producing the big shots to save the day. Go Ben!!!!!!!

When asked how he went he said “It was a tough day but he was really pleased with some big saves” All in all Ben possibly saved 40 odd shots in an awesome performance. I am sure there will be more sensational bowling to come from one of Marysville’s finest bowlers.

Marysville has a bye this week from pennant but will be playing AERF Mixed pairs, it last official game on the grass green as it will be replaced with a new carpet starting Monday.
